Shane was born in Sydney and began his hospitality career working at what was known as Gekko at The Park Lane in Sydney. Shane was considered one of Sydney’s most respected sommeliers and restaurant managers with more than eighteen years experience in the restaurant industry, his knowledge of wine both local and international is extraordinary and working in some of Sydney’s finest restaurants has allowed him to develop a knowledge and passion for food, wine, spirits and handcrafted beers. Shane is a member of the world wide Guild of Master Sommeliers.

Annemarie was born in Wellington, New Zealand and moved to Sydney to study makeup at the age of 19.  Annemarie worked in Sydney and then internationally as a makeup artist working in the hospitality industry to support herself between jobs.

Working and travelling around the world led to a passionate love of food and wine, this passion lured Annemarie into the hospitality industry and 18 years on working in and around the industry, she is living her dream of owning and operating her own hospitality business at The Stanley.

Annemarie and Shane have a young daughter, Isabella. The family moved from Sydney NSW to the beautiful North East of Victoria in May 2007 for a “tree change” and feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful part of the world with direct access to amazing local produce and wine.
